Critique the present social context where women and girl
children are commoditized , abused and incarcerated.
Create awareness among the general public as well as the
victims on the plight of women and girl children abused and
or trafficked .
JR€scue women and girl children who are trafficked
danger of being trafficked.

Rehabilitate and re-integrate into the mainstream society the
women and girl children who have been victims of trafficking
or released from prisons and juvenile homes.
^//Network with like-minded individuals, groups and government
to create an environment for a dignified life for women and
girLchildren who have been abused, trafficked or incarcerated.

Background of Nethravathi and Haripriya

In the year 2000 these 2 kids were admitted inta^
Samraksha Global Force, an Orphanage run by
Jadugar Jagannath, for different reasons and unde?'
different contexts. In 2004 a PIL was filed against
the organization, based on their atrocity against the
children in their orphanage. These kids were then
shifted to a hostel in Bangalore, Nagarbhavi by the
C\NC and then in 2006 the hostel was shut down and
the kids were put into various other remand homes.
These 2 kids then ended up in Makkala Jeevodaya.
Since 2006 the kids are provided for at Makkal
Jeevodaya till date.
Two months of ground work that went

Mallige a friend of Pushpa , who works with 'Mandya
town Slum dwellers association', provided us with
information of
Mr.Santosh Kawalgi, Who runs Janapada Trust in
Melkote, who would help in the investigation of
Haripriya and Nethravathi

Santosh Kawalgi provided us with the contact numt»
ofMr.Narasingharaya (Jadugar Jagannath's brothei
drasingaraya was not very convinced on-o’ur
intention of this social investigation, then Mr.Santosh
Kawalgi spoke with him and convinced the motive
behind such an investigation. Then he provided the
team with Jadugar Jagannath number.
Then calls to Jadugar Jagannath revealed that both
the kids don't have parents and that Nethravthi's
uncle has migrated to Mumbai.
One month before our visit to Mandya, Mallige had entrusted
Ravi, Vasu, vijay and Ravindra to find the whereabouts of
Krishna (Nethravathi's Uncle), who worked in milk dairy booth ii
Bhukankere.

News was spread across milk dairies of Bhukankere)®
Vittalapura and K.R.Pet , and before we left to
Mandya, it was confirmed that Krishna is in
Vitalapura.
We (Social investigation team) met with
Mr.Venkatesh , CWC chair person , Mandya, along
with Mallige and it was in vain since we could not find
any useful information about the children.
We then had a pit stop at K.R.Pet, since Vasu and
team faced with lot of animosity at Nethravathi's
aunt and uncle's house.
Meanwhile at Ne thravathi's
house
• Post Lavanya and Vasu's intervention,
who met with Nethravathi's family
and convinced that we were there
just to trace her blood relatives and
that she would go back with us,
family met with Nethravathi and our
team.

Narasingaraya's mother during our visit to their
house mentioned about 2 adults who had come in
search of Nisarga (alias Haripriya)
The second day we get contact number of Anil,
Nisarga's Aunt's son
We follow up with him for one month post Mandya
visit
Finally the family unites on 8th June , in Lal Bagh
Botanical garden, Bangalore.

regularly
• Haripriya’s family want to reclaim the child, have
filed application to the Child welfare committee
(CWC) and the case is proceeding in CWC,
Mandya currently.
Other associations with MJ
• Maria, Lavanya, Pushpa and Shilpa have taken

classes on math, enqlish, kannaaa, creative

learning for 3 months ( March- May 2012) for 6
kids who were not yet admitted into school for
the academic year 2012- Sangeeta, Archana,
Ashq
