The informal network of voluntary agencies in Bangalore have had
a very spontaneous response to our campaign of collecting
donations,
clothes and supplies for distribution
to
the
Earthquake disaster victims.
t
In another communication last, week at the request of CHAI,
Secunderabad, we had appealed for volunteers for general, medical
and counselling work among the disaster victims.
This too
received a good response. On 19th three nurses (Sr. Lourd Mary,
Sr. Mariamma and Sr. Mariamma) from St. Philomena's Hospital left
for Hyderabad to join the CHAI medical relief team. On 29th Dr.
Parthasarathy and Dr.
Ashok Kumar Jain of the Orthopaedics
Department and Sr. Prema and Sr. Jyothi, all from St. Martha's
Hospital, followed.

On 21st the next team of ten volunteers left for Latur via
Sholapur by Udayan Express. The team consisted of Mr. S.J.
